‘I Am My Own Landscape’

On January 4, an art book was printed with watercolors and pencil drawings by the German artist Janaina Tschäpe, on Munken Kristall Rough in 400 numbered copies.
Watercolors are delicate and at the same time intense, and it is always a challenge to reproduce them in print. The originals were first photographed with Narayana’s Phase One iXG 100 Mp camera, and then corrected and converted with a color profile, made together with the book’s graphic artist Michael Jensen for the special paper.
Hereby, the yellowish tone of the watercolor paper could be re-created on the very white, uncoated paper.
The book is published by Forlaget Bjerggaard, and will be released on January 23.
Matchprints of the watercolors are being compared to the final print.
