On January 29, the English photographer Stephen Gill was visiting to see some test prints of selected photos for his new book, ‘The Pillar’, with nature photos from Skåne in Sweden, where he lives. The book will be published in April by Stephens own publishing house, Nobody Books.
Stephen Gill wanted an extra depth and intensity in his black and white photographs. Narayana’s scanner department separated the images into quadtones, which were printed with two Pantone colours and two black colours. After a little change of one of the Pantone mixes, the print got exactly the expression that the photographer wanted. In addition, the photographs were printed on four different uncoated paper grades for Stephen Gill’s choice.
